My last hike involved a lot of uphill scrambling and my dog's sudden sprints didn't jerk me off balance once. The stretch in the middle makes a huge difference when she bolts after a squirrel, and it's honestly made the whole walk more enjoyable for both of us.

The elastic section totally saved my arm when my dog lunged after a squirrel on our trail walk—it absorbed the jerk instead of yanking me forward. I also love that it still feels like a solid leash when he’s walking calmly, so it’s not floppy or annoying. Definitely the most comfortable hiking leash
